{Field Trips} Chalk It Up

On Saturday we attended Chalk It Up, a sidewalk chalk festival in downtown San Antonio.

There were some very cool chalk murals along Houston Street.  Like this Peter Pan The Musical piece, we are so excited to see the performance in December. 

One of my favorite things about the festival was all the Free Family Fun activities.

The girls created cascading sculptures,

collages,

and stencil art work.

Aside from professional pieces, there were areas in the street for kids to work their own creativity.

And like most artistic folks,

the girls began coping what everyone around them was doing.

Tracing each others bodies.

Now all will know Brie and Briar were there,

Chalking It Up!

But I'll keep this sweet photo to remember our fun fall day together in the Alamo City, in case the chalk washes away!
