{Weekly Round Up} Birthday Sneak Peak

This week's Weekly Round Up is not about our school work, even though we had one pretty awesome week.  My WRU post today is about, Briar's birthday party prep.  I'm too excited to wait for the world (okay, my limited number of friends) to see all the fun stuff I've been cooking up this week.

It is of my opinion every good party requires months of planning,
and counters piled with S*T*U*F*F.
In honor of Briar's fourth birthday, her father and I have been working tirelessly...
to throw her a Seapurb, Mermaid Party.
A party complete with blue cake,
Sand Dollar cookies,
 salt water taffy,
and 28 servings of Vanilla Pudding.

Huh?
Just trust me.  By Saturday night, Robert and I will be Under The Sea Rock Stars in Briar Rooney's eyes.

{Weekly Round-Up} Our Instagram Week

Since I already shared with you Monday's dreadful performance because of a new iPhone, today I'll showcase the perks of my new smart phone.  Instagram.  This weeks pictures are all courtesy of my new Instagram application.

Tuesday:
On Tuesday, Brie attended her weekly fall science class at the Botanical Gardens.
Afterwards, we took advantage of Free Tuesday at the Witte Museum.  Again.  This time we visited a neat taxidermy exhibit.  The Breaver was in critter bliss.

Wednesday:
While Brie was in her weekly art class, Briar and I enjoyed a lunch date.  I love my adventurous eater.  Sushi Rolls, yummo!
Later that day was Sports Night at AWANA Club.  Briar rocked out her ballet clothes, while Brie rocked out five verses.  Woot Woot.

Thursday:
Thursday was a bust for the Dohner Education Department.  My only saving grace was the two hours spent at the library.  This week we switched our gears into an impromptu Johnny Appleseed, Tall Tales Series.  Who needs lesson plans everyday!

Friday:
We always end our week with ballet. Brie and Briar sure know how to pointe us in the right direction for the weekend.  Like Family Game Night, Sequence style.
Of course, it's all fun and games until....
momma wins.

{Home School Weekly Round Up} Three Weeks in One Post

On the first day of school, I had this grand idea to post a weekly round-up of all the fun projects we had completed throughout the week.
Like our First Day Of School's, The Kissing Hands report.
However, I never got around to it, until now.  I'm kicking off our Home School Weekly Round Up, with highlights from our first three weeks of school.  Starting with a field trip to Lego Kids Fest in Austin, Texas.
The girls had many opportunities to use their imagination,
as well as, follow directions to build fun Lego creations.
We took our second week of school on the road to, South Padre Island, Texas.
Life Science was our subject focus for the week, by taking many field trips.  Trips to the ocean, Sea Life Museum, and The Sea Turtle Hospital.
Aside from watching a Sea Turtle surgery (poor buddy lost his flipper in a fishing line incident),
we met many rehabilitated Sea Turtles up close and personal.

Week Three of school had us in full swing, and EXTRA busy.  One of the many highlights was our once a month Zoo School class for homeschoolers.  The $25 was well worth the experiences we shared learning about Urban Wildlife.
Both girls were slightly nervous about sitting at a table with other kids while mommy watched from the side lines,
however once Tigger the Tiger Salamander made an appearance everyone had seemed to warm up.
Here is Brie hard at work on her observation log.  My little lefty was eager to log all about the little critters she saw around the San Antonio River.
Stay tuned for Week Four, we've got a big Flowering Fruits class at the San Antonio Botanical Gardens.
