South Padre Island, Day One

Most family vacations do not begin like ours,

 moments after snapping this sweet backseat picture...I snapped this one!

 It appears the grocery bag I had driven over on Thursday, did more damage to the alternator than the dealership had anticipated.

So we called roadside assistance, towed the Civic to the dealership, rented a Chevy Impala,

 and drove safely to the Hilton Garden Inn on South Padre Island.

 We quickly put on our suits,

 and began making memories, happier memories,

in the pool,

and at yummy seafood resturnates like Blackbeards!

Not much can keep the smiles off the Dohner Family, and car trouble was certainly not going to bring us down!
