Memorial Day Fun

This Memorial Day our little family headed out to MacCallister Park for a morning hike. Brie had a blast walking the entire (minus a few stints on her dad's shoulders) two miles to the playgroud and back. Afterwards we head home for some grilled chicken, corn on the cob, strawberried and a dip in the pool. Here are a few photo's of our hike.

$100 Tomato

My little tomato is all grown up. He was picked, chopped and turned into an AWESOME taco salad by my AMAZING Mother-In-Law.

Of course since my Zucchini, Cucumber and Chilli Pepper crop has died, this is my $100 tomato. I'm still holding out for the two green peppers I spotted few days ago. Wish me luck!

Seven Months

Seven, seven month facts about Briar.
Briar gets really sad, if she's not in bed by 7pm.
Briar loves playing outside with her sister, the excersaucer is all she needs to be happy.

As for teeth, she's still gumming it.

Briar is a fussy eater, we now are forced to mix fruit with her veggies.

Briar is no longer sensitive to rice, which gives us hope that her tummy is getting stronger.

She's not on all four's yet, but that doesn't stop her from scooting about.

Pulling her sister hair is her favorite pass time.

Hot Stuff

Instead of napping, cleaning or doing anything productive during quiet time I made this.

I am seriously addicted to this digital scrapbooking and it's FREE!

Week One

I've survived week one at home and it really wasn't that bad. My house is cleaner than it ever has been, my kids are calmer than usual and my nerves are much more relaxed. Maybe God's trying to teach me to "slow down".

So how did we spend our first week of a self-imposed quarantine?

Playing Wii.

Brie really gets into the game.

Sitting Pretty.

Blue eyes is happy doing just about anything.

Doing Art Projects.

No Brie did not draw the butterfly, just colored it.

And finally, wrestling on the floor.

Have you seen two happier sisters?

What does week two hold? Swimming, gardening, walking, reading and a big art project. Think homemade puppet show.

Before I know it my girls will be twelve and have no use for mom, I'm looking forward to enjoying every moment with them this week.

OCD

Just a head's up to all my friends out there, never give your OCD child the Fisher Price "Go Anywhere" School Bus or Ice Cream Truck. You will spend your entire day saying thing like "she doesn't have to sit perfect", "use your imagination", "it's not designed to do that", "pretend she's driving the bus", "you can do it, you're a big girl", "ask your daddy this time", "let find another toy to play with", ect...

This of course is made worse by the fact that I'm so afraid of the Swine Flu or H1N1 as others call it that I refuse to leave our house until it clears up. Am I being crazy, probably, but I hate for my girls to get it. Plus I already have the regular flu, no need to add to the mix.

So here's to a long month of May.
