Which Way To The Beach: Day One

This weekend, well actually on Sunday Robert decided to take the family to the beach for a fun-filled couple of days. The trip started off with a dip in the hotel pool. The girls were extra excited!

For being an indoor pool it was extra cold.

Which is why we spent most of our time in the luke-warm hot tub.

The main reason for the trip was to celebrate "Sibling Weekend", a tradition we started last year. A special day just for us and our little family. It's also when we let the girls open the presents they selected for each other.

Unfortunately, I'm new at this tradition and in the rush of getting on the road for our spontaneous get away (I literally had an hour to prepare and pack) I neglected to wrap the gifts. Thankfully I'm creative ( of course I'm "ridiculous" if you're Robert) and I improvised with their brightly colored winter coats.

Brie picked out a Woody and Buckeye combo pack for Briar.

(Me thinks she might have had her own interest in the toy)

Briar (with a little help from mom) choice a Lite-Brite for Brie.

It was a smash hit--Well after mom was kicked off. Apparently you don't HAVE to put the right colored pegs in the outline in order to have fun. Who knew???

Come back tomorrow for Day 2, where we actually go to the beach!!!
